Directions for use:Breezhaler
Some medications are delivered in a dry powder form using various types of inhaler devices. Dry powder inhalers deliver medication to the lungs, helped by the force of the indrawn breath. Unlike metered-dose inhalers, the Breezhaler contains no propellant gas. When using the Breezhaler, please follow these directions:

- Remove the cap and tilt the mouthpiece.
- Immediately before using, remove one capsule from the blister.
- Place the capsule in the capsule chamber.
- Close the mouthpiece firmly until you hear a "click".
- To pierce the capsule, hold the mouthpiece upright and press on both buttons firmly, then release. Do not press the piercing buttons more than once.
- The powder is now ready for inhalation.

- Turn your head away from the inhaler, then breathe out fully.
- Place the mouthpiece in the mouth, between the lips, without bitting.
- Hold your head straight, then breathe in steadily and deeply. You should hear a whirring noise from the capsule spinning.
- If you do not hear a whirring sound, open the inhaler and check to make sure that the capsule is not stuck. If it is, gently tap the base of the device.
- Hold your breath for 5 to 10 seconds or longer, if possible.
- After having removed the inhaler from your mouth, gently breathe out.
- Open the inhaler to see if any powder is left in the capsule. If there is, repeat these steps to make sure the full dose has been inhaled.
- To dispose of the capsule, open the mouthpiece and tilt the inhaler forward to tip it out.
Place the cap back on the device before putting it away. If the inhaler falls on the ground after the dose has been loaded, or if you breathe into the mouthpiece, the dose is lost and you must start over from the beginning.
To clean the inhaler, simply wipe the mouthpiece with a clean, dry tissue. Do not use water.
It is normal not to feel anything when inhaling dry powder. You may however, detect a sweet taste.
