Directions for use: Diskus
Certain drugs are formulated as powder and delivered by various types of inhaler devices. Dry powder inhalers deliver the drug to your lungs, helped by the force of your indrawn breath. Contrary to metered-dose inhalers, the Diskus contains no propellant gas. When using the Diskus, please follow these directions:

- Slide the outer case to open up the device.
- To release a dose, hold the device with one hand and place the thumb from the other hand on the lever (see illustration).
- Push the lever as far as it will go, until you hear a "click".

- Turn your head away from the Diskus and exhale deeply.
- Place the Diskus mouthpiece in your mouth.
- Tilt your head back slightly. Inhale deeply.
- Hold you breath for 10 seconds, or longer if you can.
- Exhale slowly.
- If you need to take another dose of the same drug, wait at least 1 minute before taking it and do not forget to load the next dose.
Close the Diskus by sliding the outer case back over the mouthpiece. By doing so, the lever will return to its original position, ready for another use.
The Diskus inhaler comes with a dose indicator that tells you how many doses are left. You can use a dry cloth to wipe the mouthpiece, but never use water!
