Directions for use: rectal ointments
Rectal ointments are used to treat inflammation or infections that occur in the rectal area. Depending on the product used, it can be applied around or inside the anus. To apply rectal ointment, follow these steps:

For external application
- Clean the anus and surrounding area with mild soap and water.
- Gently wipe the cleaned area dry.
- Apply a thin layer of ointment around the anus.
- Wash your hands with soap and water afterwards.

For internal application
- Clean the anus and surrounding area with mild soap and water.
- Gently wipe the cleaned area dry.
- Uncap the tube and squeeze gently to allow some ointment to escape.
- Lubricate the applicator with a little ointment.
- Attach the applicator to the tube, then gently insert the applicator into the rectum. Squeeze to release the medication.

- Wash your hands with soap and water afterwards. Also wash the applicator thoroughly and recap the tube.
- Apply the rectal ointment after each bowel movement or as prescribed.
