Directions for use: Taltz
This information sheet is intended to help you remember the various steps involved in safely injecting this medication. The instructions below can be used by patients who self-inject, or by those who administer injections to others.

- Wash your hands with soap and water.
- Prepare your supplies: the auto-injector pen and an alcohol swab.
- Visually inspect the contents using the window. Do not use the pen if the contents are cloudy, discoloured or if particulate matter is present.

- Taltz should be injected under the skin (subcutaneous injection). Do not inject into a vein or muscle.
- Wash the injection area with soap and water. If using an alcohol swab, allow the alcohol to dry before administering the injection. Recommended injection areas are the abdomen, thigh or upper arm.

- Make sure that the pen is locked. The indicator should show a closed lock.
- Remove the base cap from the tip of the pen.

- Place the clear base flat on the injection site.
- Unlock the pen by turning the lock ring to the unlocked position.
- Press and hold the green injection button. You will hear a click.
- Continue holding the injection button for another 5 to 10 seconds until you hear a second click indicating that the injection is completed.
- Remove and dispose of the pen in a sharps container.
The pen is a single-dose pen.
