Directions for use: Turbuhaler
Certain drugs are formulated as a powder and delivered by various types of inhaler devices. Dry powder inhalers deliver the drug to your lungs, helped by the force of your indrawn breath. Contrary to metered-dose inhalers, the Turbuhaler contains no propellant gas. When using the Turbuhaler, please follow these directions:

- Unscrew and remove the cover.
- To load a dose: hold the inhaler upright and turn the coloured grip as far as it will go in one direction, then turn it back again as far as it will go in the opposite direction. You should hear a click sound. If you do not hear it, you will not receive any medication. If you are not sure that you heard the "click", you may repeat the operation. You will not receive a double dose by mistake.
- If you are using a new inhaler, repeat the preceding step before using it for the first time. Otherwise, load only one dose before each use.

- Turn your head away from the inhaler and exhale deeply.
- Place the mouthpiece between your teeth and close your lips around it. Do not chew the mouthpiece.
- Inhale forcefully and deeply.
- Hold your breath for 10 seconds, or longer if you can.
- Remove the inhaler from your mouth then exhale slowly.
- If you need to take another dose of the same drug, wait at least 1 minute before taking it and do not forget to load the next dose.
Replace the cover before storing your inhaler. Clean the outside of the mouthpiece once a week with a dry cloth. Never use water or any other fluid.
If you drop the inhaler after loading a dose or if you breathe into it, you will lose the dose. If this happens, repeat the above steps.
It is normal for people not to taste or feel any medication when inhaling dry powder. However, it is possible that some medication stick to the inside of your mouth and throat. To reduce the risk of side effects, rinse your mouth with water after each use.
The Turbuhaler inhaler is equipped with a dose indicator. When a red mark appears in the window under the mouthpiece, there are approximately 20 doses left. When the red mark reaches the bottom of the window, the inhaler is empty. Some inhalers come with dose counters; the number of remaining doses appears in the window. Empty inhalers will continue to make a sound when shaken.
